The mask is somewhat gritty.So the initial rubbing will help to a certain extent to slough off the dead skin.Also an optimum amount is required to 'feel' the product working.Though you do get a warm feeling,but not sure whether actually the enzymes cause peeling or not.Skin is slightly softer.Like every other mask the skin is slightly brighter after application.Need to further use it find out how effective it is(have already used it 4 times).
