Used after cleansing, it provides a matte finish on your face due to the clay in the toner. I found this didn't clog my pores and it kept me shine-free for most of the day combined with my moisturizer. I saw no difference, however, in the size of my pores so wouldn't go as far to say it is "pore-refining".

I use this toner in the morning after the Rare Earth Cleanser and I LOVE it. The two of them have virtually "cured" my terrible oily T-zone area. After a couple of months of using (almost everyday) my pores have shrunk and got de-clogged as well. It is very refreshing to use in the morning. It leaves white talc on the face that I just quickly wipe off after it dries. The clay/talc also brightens the skin a bit. Unlike many toners, it's not sticky at all. I'm very pleased.
